Kosti

Kosti is located in the territory of Strandzha Nature Park in Tsarevo Municipality and on the main road from Tsarevo to Malko Tarnovo. The village is 25 km from the municipal center. It is situated in the valley of Veleka river in a picturesque area surrounded by high hills with ancient forests. Here grows the periwinkle, a popular flower as a symbol of Strandzha.

Kosti is a wonderful place for year-round eco-tourism, it is a favorite place for hunting and fishing.

One of the special attractions here is the great necropolis and some Thracian mounds, located south of the village. Southeast of Kosti, over the area called St. Mary, is the oldest oak in the mountains, at the age of 800 years.

In the vicinity there are several chapels, which are worth looking, namely "St. Petka ", "St. Konstadin", "St. George", "St. Dimitar", "St. Elijah", "St Mary".

The church "St. Cyril and Methodius " is the most beautiful village church in Strandzha. It was called "St. Constantine and Helena" to the expulsion of Greeks from the village back in 1913.

It was destroyed during the uprising in 1909 and again restored and highlighted. What is impressive about it is the carved iconostasis of the latest Strandzha carvers - Pandil, as well as many restored icons.

The feast of Kosti is celebrated with a gathering on July 20, on the day of St. Elijah.
