St. Vlas and Elenite

Saint Vlas is a town in southeastern Bulgaria. It is situated in Nessebar municipality, Burgas District. Since 2006, by a government decision Saint Vlas has become a town. The village was founded in the 2nd century by the ancient Thracians. Back then it bore the name Larissa, and it was not until the 14th century when it got the name of Saint Vlas – a patron of traders, farmer and healer.

The beach of Saint Vlas is facing south. The sand is fine, golden. Here you can find the unique combination of fresh mountain air, maritime climate and beautiful scenery. Saint Vlas is a favorite place for recreation for many Bulgarians and foreigners. Summer days are characterized by relatively quiet mornings and cool afternoons. Unique long, warm and quiet autumn. In the last several years the area has witnessed temperatures of 15 degrees in mid-December. Winter here is no more than a month.
