Chernomorets

Chernomorets is located 24 km south of Burgas on the southern coast of the large Burgas Bay. The village founded in 1728 has a superb location in a kind of hollow near the shore on a small bay by the sea. The little Bay called by the Greeks "Agios Nicholas" (Saint Nicholas) in old times has the shape of a horseshoe with its opening facing north. It is this bay that gave the name of the village, Chernomorets, which until 1951 was called St. Nicholas. The village is located on beautiful shores and nearby is located Vromos Bay. The three beaches attract many tourists every year.

One of the landmarks of Chernomorets is the so-called "Garden of Eden" and the Orthodox Church "St. Nicholas." The garden is in front of the temple. The temple is a new one-story building. In 1994 it was burned and only a wooden cross and an icon of "St. Nicholas” were saved . The building was restored with funds from the locals.
