Pamporovo

Pamporovo is situated inside the Rhodope Mountains at 1650 m altitude at the foot of Mount Snezhanka. It is located about 220 km from Sofia, 85 km south of Plovdiv, 15 km north of Smolyan, and 10 km south of Chepelare.

The climate of the resort features a mild winter, which has more than 100 sunny days. The resort is ranked first on sunny days among all ski resorts in Bulgaria. The average annual temperature is 5.5°C.

Because of the beautiful scenery the area is visited by tourists during the summer months as well.

The main tourist flow in Pamporovo is during the winter months because the resort is designed primarily for ski sports. Almost all of the ski runs in the resort start at Mount Snezhanka, as their altitude varies from 1926 m to 1400 m. The tourist season begins in December and lasts until the end of April.

Mount Snezhanka is a part of a hundred tourist sites of the Bulgarian Tourist Union. The seal is in "Stoudenets" chalet.
