Durankulak
Durankulak is end northeastern populated point in Bulgaria, the last village before the Bulgarian Black Sea's northern border. Its center is located only 6 km from the Romanian border and 3 km in a straight line inland from the Black Sea.
Essential as landmarks are the following sites: the Durankulak Lake, Kataliysko Marsh (Eagle Marsh) and two large beaches off Durankulak - north and south.
The place boasts a unique blend of unspoiled nature, sea, protected lakes, cliffs and canyons, undeveloped beaches and endless farm fields. Here goes the main migration route Via Pontica, where in the spring and autumn you can see the migration of storks, pelicans, cranes, eagles and many other interesting birds. In winter you can enjoy the innumerable flocks of the endangered Red-breasted Goose. Sports fishing is also part of the attractions of the area.
