Kranevo

Kranevo is situated on the Black Sea coast and is popular among tourists both in Bulgaria and around the world. The beautiful beaches and picturesque surroundings attract many visitors here. In the past Kranevo was known as a Children's recreation area because of the numerous school camps here. Today Kranevo has become one of the most desirable and peaceful place both for family and for youth recreation. Kranevo offers a great combination of running mineral water, fresh air, crystal clear sea and beautiful beaches. It is located near the ruins of ancient fortresses Kranea and Gerania. Only 2 km north of Kranevo is the beautiful resort of Albena. There is a direct asphalt road connecting Kranevo and Albena, which crosses Baltata nature reserve.

Ekrene village – that is how Kranevo was called earlier, emerged at the place of an ancient Roman fortress. On top of the plateau west of the village was a medieval castle the remains of which are preserved to this day.

Kranevo attracts not only for its beaches. The village has many hotels, restaurants and a large shopping street. It is surrounded on both sides by the well known resorts Albena and Golden Sands. Unlike other places on the Bulgarian seaside Kranevo is still not affected by overbuilding.

The proximity to Varna and Balchik offers convenient public transportation - airport, railway station, and makes the place a starting point for many tourist routes.
